San Antonio, TX—Freddy’s franchise growth is heating up as the 9th area location near San Antonio opened today in The Rim retail district at 17303 IH-10 West.
“The Rim is an exciting destination for South Texas Custard. We have all the attractions of a major shopping center plus Six Flags Fiesta Texas Theme Park right across the street,” commented franchise partner James Oberg. “We look forward to serving our guests cooked-to-order steakburgers and freshly-churned custard to refresh them on their way into or out of the Park.”
In addition to Six Flags, the new location is near the largest Bass Pro store in Texas, a host of other big-box venues as well as dozens of national hotel chains. The free-standing Freddy’s restaurant includes a drive-thru window and both indoor and patio seating.
“As a franchisor, we value partnerships with those who share our vision for the concept,” commented Freddy’s COO Scott Redler. “James Oberg and his team believe in our commitment to serving the highest quality food in a welcoming atmosphere centered on cleanliness and hospitality. We have a simple menu founded on what we do best—steakburgers, our signature hot dogs, shoe-string fries and of course the best tasting freshly-churned frozen custard you’ll ever have.”
Freddy’s first arrived in the San Antonio area during 2006 with the location on Agora Parkway in Selma. The Rim location brings the nationwide count for Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers to 68. The 10th San Antonio area Freddy’s is schedule to open in early July at 5415 W. Loop 1604 North near Sea World San Antonio.
Co-founded by Scott Redler and Bill, Randy and Freddy Simon, Freddy’s opened its first location on west 21st Street in Wichita during 2002, offering a unique combination of cooked-to-order steakburgers, Chicago dogs, and other savory items along with its signature desserts prepared with premium frozen custard made fresh throughout the day in each store. Freddy’s founders operate six locations in the Wichita Metro area and two in the Kansas City market. Sixty franchise units serve other areas of Kansas and Oklahoma as well as Arizona, California, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. Freddy’s has been listed as the Fifth Fastest Growing Chain Restaurant in the United States and Canada by Chain Store Guide, a sister publication to Nation’s Restaurant News. Most recently, Freddy’s was recognized by Technomics as the 5th fastest growing burger concept in the country. In the local community of the company’s founding, Freddy’s is a recipient of the 2011 Best in Business Award from the Wichita Business Journal. In 2011, Freddy’s was also named one of Entrepreneur Magazine’s Franchise 500®.
